This is the Maytag set from Bloomington.  Ray came by today and helped get them inside.  They appear to be in great shape.  Ray popped the lid and lost the balls.  I have lots of parts on order.  I don't see any sign of the transmission leaking below.

No, Kenny.

I am going to wait until more men come over to take them to the basement.  At least they're not on the truck anymore.

Interesting -- to me, anyway -- to see a Maytag washer of that age with a white tub.  I thought that was something Maytag didn't offer until the extra-large tubs came along.

White Tub

I remember as a kid my Mom having this same era washer... not nearly as high end as this but from same time and it had a white tub also.

I don't recall a Maytag Automatic with a blue tub until '66.

Beautiful set Travis. Some Meguires Cleaner Wax will have those looking like new!

From the first AM-AMP models, The dark blue tub models did not show up till the 06 series machines.

What a beautiful set! And in Sunny Yellow, no less. I think they should stay in the living room for all to see and admire! Congrats!

Those look lovely! I love yellow on a Maytag, especially with a shine on the basket like that. Congrats.

Maytag used lots of dark blue - why just the other day...

So white came first?   That seems so backward to me.  Why did Maytag even bother to roll out the dark blue?  Was it cheaper to produce?  It certainly was less attractive, IMO.

I'm glad you saved these! Beautiful machines and that Dryer, IMO, has the best control than any other HOH dryer.

Sunny Yellow is my favorite color - even more so than pink. i have this same Maytag washer (a 1962 model) in chocolate brown. The only difference is mine doesn't have the rotary switch for the spray rinse temperature.

Mellow Yellow

If I had to name the color of these nice machines I would choose that name. I was really worried that at least the washer would be crazy heavy. Turns out it wasn't bad. Now, getting these down into the basement at Travis's house is a different matter. There will be hardly any room to spare at the landing upstairs to turn the machines around. It will happen though. I'm glad Travis got these though. They look so cute. I love the "M" logo on the fronts. Seems like these were reasonably cared for.

SUNNY YELLOW TAGS

Travis:
I'm a little late in posting but wanted to say congrats on the new sunny yellow set. I have a Frigidaire custom Imperial stove in sunny yellow. That color was so pretty - I wish they still had it. Happy Washing in your new Maytags !!!!
