There is NOTHING commercial about these washers, we have seen these in several installations and they work for a while if they get very little use.

If this is sightly older than the latest models and has a transmission and it is overloaded a few times (being in a commercial installation) the trans will be done.

I knew of one of the profile models in a northern vacation trailer that was used frequently for two years by a little old lady, with only herself to wash for then saw only maybe 20 loads a YEAR there after and the washer only made 12 years. With an average family the machine would have seen more use on one year than it saw over the 12 it worked.

I had one of those at my shop recently

It's the same as their residential machines.

No haters, that profile series washer is universally accepted as a turd.

universal turd?

My mother in law had a GE profile washer for ten years. Not electronic, so it costed less. She replaced it with another GE. Good enough for washing her and dad's
two or three weekly worn outfits, sheets, and unmentionables.
If you have your health at age 85, with minimal problems like reflux, you're doing ok.

GE "commercial"

I can never forget these machines. They sounded as junky as their residential units did. I remember when we bought a residential version, the machine would squeak and saw during agitation especially with a super load. The cabinet would twist and shift during normal/fast agitation/spin.

like it or not, and although it may not be the best machine, someone should save it to their collection as a spot in history...

Do you think this one is still available?

listen to me people if I said it once, I must have said it in every single thread ever created.... y'all should hurry down to you local appliance dealer and pick out a 1958 RCA WHIRLPOOL IMPERIAL MARK XII WASHER and matching dryer in your choice of decorator colors before their all gone!....I hear Fred Maytag will be there handing out balloons!....
