For being a member here, it is about time that I had a vintage machine of my own! For only $40 on Craigslist I bought this Maytag model a207. Other than the motor carriage being a little rusty causing the overload to trip during the spin up it is in perfect working order. I sprayed the carriage with penetrating oil and moved it back and forth a bit and it now works perfectly.

Here are some videos of it in operation

I decoded the serial and the machine was made in June of 1976.

Nice machine, and thanks for posting the videos. I grew up with the A206, which was just like this except it had the black agitator. Brings back memories to see the standard capacity load washing.

Good luck with it,
James

Congratulations on getting a good deal on a durable MT Washer, the 70s were about the peak of MTs reliability on their washers.

The turn-over ability was quite good on MTs standard capacity machines, they had more problems with the bigger tub because they used the same size agitator and did not even lengthen the wash or rinse agitation time allotments.

Hopefully you can get a lot of use out of this washer.

On getting your very own vintage, center-dial, maytag A207!
And at such a great price too!

BOY your standard capacity maytag sure seems to be kicking up the waves in that washtub!
Very cool!
:o)
