This model dates from 1952 and piggy-backed on the release of the Disney movie. I found a set of the jelly glasses with the 7 dwarfs a long time ago, but they are almost worthless. The Magic Heater technology was developed for the Duomatic but in the Duomatic, it was a 240 volt immersion heater. This was a 120 volt machine so the heater was considerably less effective. It did not, in testing, actually raise the temperature of hot water, but it did keep the wash water from cooling as much as it would if it were not used.
As with most front loaders without heaters, it was far more effective to fill the empty machine with hot water and let it tumble a few minutes to heat up the machine then drain it and start the load of laundry with a hot fill. With a combo, you wash whites after you have washed and dried the first load so that you have a really hot machine that will not cool the hot fill for the wash.
The line, "The hotter the water the cleaner the clothes," would be used later by Westinghouse for their dishwashers with the hot water booster, "The hotter the water the cleaner the dishes."
