I recently purchased a set of 50's metal Kitchen Cabinets by Geneva and the set came with this Hotpoint Dishwasher. I have no idea if there is any value to it or any parts that someone could use or not. I have no way of knowing if it still works or not but I did not want to just throw it away without at least asking if anyone wants it.

It is amazing how similar the racks in that old Hotpoint are to the racks in the old top loading GE machines.

I have a feeling . . .

. . . that dishwasher is very early 1950's or even late 1940's. Looks to me like the top rack does not move on its own rails but simply sat on the bottom rack and had to be lifted up and out in order to load the bottom rack. They were good machines but, of course, required very hot water.

Brings back memories.

The lift-out center section enabled some loading of the lower rack through the opening in the upper rack, but clearly, removing the upper rack was required for larger items.

Wow!

This is cool! I mean, hot.

Back when we used really hot water to wash dishes and dishwasher detergents were mainly lye, chlorine bleach, phosphates and metasilicates....

Well, this cleaned well.

Bet it still would, today, with a bit of TLC.

It is interesting, though, to speculate on the condition of the front of the door versus the rest of the cabinet. Ducolux cabinet, porcelain door?
