It is amazing how similar the racks in that old Hotpoint are to the racks in the old top loading GE machines. |

The lift-out center section enabled some loading of the lower rack through the opening in the upper rack, but clearly, removing the upper rack was required for larger items. |

This is cool! I mean, hot. Back when we used really hot water to wash dishes and dishwasher detergents were mainly lye, chlorine bleach, phosphates and metasilicates.... Well, this cleaned well. Bet it still would, today, with a bit of TLC. It is interesting, though, to speculate on the condition of the front of the door versus the rest of the cabinet. Ducolux cabinet, porcelain door? |
