Pretty sure Contis are imported Spanish built Girbau machines. Girbau make an impressive range of machines up to a monster 1100-litre-drum (122kg) washer.

Interesting, but that does explain the "continental" moniker.

The dryer door window shape is what spoke "Speed Queen" to me.

Girbau

The washer is made by Girbau. The dryer is a rebadged Alliance Laundry (SQ Huebsch..). If anyone is thinking of buying them if they havent already gone, make sure the washer has its keys with it otherwise its snookered when it comes to repairing.

Changed a dump valve on the model up to the HS6008 above, a HS6013 on friday. Very nice machines to work on and watch haha!

Why does the dryer rating say 25,000 BTUH and 7.3 kW? Is that just the rating for both the gas and the electric models?

Either/or. Gas dryers would be measured differently, but 7.3kw is equivalant to 25,000BTU/h to my best knowlege.

Hi Tom, interestingly all current SQ  gas   dryers have the KW on them.

This dryer was built in April 2013

All specifications of gas burners are in kWh overhere. I guess it's part of the metric system.

Even though the ad is still up, the machines supposedly needed to be gone a week ago.

My money is on the machines having been hauled away by the installer(s) of their replacements.
