Discovered this gem when I was cleaning out my mother's house and this was in a newer Kenmore washing machine box labeled "Ma's Old Washer. I can only assume the new automatic that came out of the box was the replacement for the old wringer that my grand parents purchased..
This forum answered some questions about the wringer but I just want to confirm one thing. It appears that this model was made in 1965 - 1966. Is that correct? I included some pics for your viewing pleasure. |

From information on Maytag Collectors Club site production of the "Blue Bell" started in 1955. Looks like yours was made in March, 1965. X=1965, E=March according to info at bottom of this thread.

BTW ... love the story about how you found this machine!! Can't believe it was kept in a box all these years and the way it was labeled. That just adds to it!! :-) |

Thank you for all the input but to be honest I do not plan to use it and really do not have the room to store it. I just like old things but washing machines are not one of them.
I found this forum and thought it would be nice to share. As for "up for grabs" if someone has a true interest and would fit nice in the their collection I will entertain offers. I do collect Hot Wheels Red Lines from 1968 to 1972 so maybe if their is a collector of both maybe a trade can be put together. Jim |
