How does this perform and what Whirlpool domestic dryers does it compare to, if any?

I'm not a home appliance expert but I think Whirlpool commercial machines are just a domestic unit with a different control panel and a coin box, if needed. If anything, the cabinet may be galvanized but I'm not so sure about that either.

If you are thinking the unit is heavier duty based on its claim to be commercial grade, I wouldnt count on it. A regular WP-design dryer shouldn't be that much different. Because the basic parts are the same, performance wouldn't be different.

That said, Whirlpool builds a pretty damn good dryer so they should hold up well in a light/moderate commercial environment. The design hasn't changed much in ages, parts are plentiful and WP dryers are easy to take apart to maintain and service.

Hoping its different, as it appears to have the lint filter in front.

It's built on the 27" dryer design, which is deeper front-to-back and has the filter at front ... vs. the 29" design with filter on top.
