This 1956 "educational documentary" was just posted to WDTVLIVE42 on YouTube.
Some interesting shots of kitchen "before and after" as well as furniture and decor of the time.
That dishwasher looks interesting. I'm sure someone on AW knows what make/model it is.
The "old" refrigerator looks like it has a clock on the door or maybe it's just the "emblem".
Camp and corny but fun!

That's a Waste King dishwasher,  the first version as referenced in threat 71409.

"Deluxe Waste King dishwasher is completely automatic, features individual control over any part of a 5-phase 37-1/2 min. washing-drying cycle.  Centrifugal pump circulates water at a rate of 60 gal. per minute.  Machine's "brain" is a control panel with 5 lights indicating each phase of the cycle.  You can set machine at any operation just by turning control knob and pushing in.  Power pre-rinse flushes away loose food particles before detergent washing begins.  A "hold-over" second rinse holds water in cabinet until it reaches 160oF. before beginning last rinse.  Given Mfg., Los Angeles, Calif."

I think he was smoking, what made California famous, and she had her panties riding too high!! That was a Waste King dishwasher, but the original series had just the dial, and the soap dispenser was a open tray, unless that was a fancier model, then we had. can you see the cycle lights on it Bob, cause I could'nt. Ours just had wash, rinse, rinse, and dry. Did a quiick, fair job, but you could almost bake in it, the dry portion was so hot.

All began with a date,

a fruit, and a nut? Kidding! I Love California!
I think the herb gardeners are mainly up north, and Oregon, and Washington.
