Who made this washer? It almost look identical to the 1980s Kenmore design, but it has both GE and Whirlpool trademarks to it:

Mabe is a Mexican-owned, Mexican-based global company which designs, produces, and distributes appliances to more than 70 countries around the world. The company was incorporated in 1946 by Egon Mabardi and Francisco Berrondo in Mexico City.

Mexican Automatic Washer

It differently has the timer knob and dial of a late 70s through early 80s Kenmore washer, but the rest of it does not strongly resemble anything else.

It does have a useless spiral agitator, I have never seen a spiral agitator that can effectively turn over a load of clothing, the only 1/2 way decent one was the Sears Roto-Swril, but the only reason it worked fairly well was the three straight fins that did most of the work.

Fascinating video! Fun sounds and looks to me like decent agitation/turnover.

Never knew Mabe existed before. Really want to see what the guts look like in this machine now.

@Combo: It sure does! I seriously thought this might have been sold at a Mexican Sears or something involving Kenmore. That panel looks like a direct imitation. If not they sure copied it lol. But the rest of the design left me wondering who made it- guess its an independent company.

I know Mexico has some odd stuff. I remember when someone posted pre and post filter flo Hybrids and I've seen You Tube videos with 27inch timer knob Whirlpools only to have a world washer basket and mechanism. Neat stuff.

Isn't that like a Maytag, how it drains and spins at the same time?
