We went to FL last week. We like to stay in a condo because there is a washer and dryer. It had the WORST washer I've ever used!!!!! It is GE model #GTUP270EM3WW, serial #DA003885C. Could not be much over a year old. The washing was OK with quick back and forth motion not a fluid motion. However after it drained the wash water it struggled to go into the spin cycle. Boy when it did start to spin it ROARED like 4 freight trains coming thru the condo!!! It drowned out the TV with the door shut to the little laundry room!!! Water was spun out of the beach towels and clothes. Cleaning was not very well either!!! The dryer was great and quiet!!!

Goes along with the cheap crap that is being sold this day and time!!!!

Will post pictures when I have time.

There is another thread going on about these machines, it sounds like yours already has bad bearings, yes I agree these are about the worst machines sold in the US in the last 20 years.

This is the 27" full sized model, they also make a 24" machine that has the same problems.

PS, the dryer is not that great, its a PITA to work on and we are seeing lots of bad main motors in them already.

$$

These stacked units are regularly over $1000... quite a bit more expensive than they used to be. I was looking at old advertisements from the early 2000's, and the Frigidaire units used to go for ~$700! Interestingly enough, many of the top loaders in those ads were between $300-550, which is still pretty much the same today.
