I posted a question in a different thread but figured I should make a separate one....

My Hobart KDM-21 has been filling weird the last couple of days. I'm pretty in tune with how it operates so I noticed that when it filled Friday night, the water sounded almost like it wasn't as much going in (more air). Then right before it would normally stop, the flow went down to a trickle. I could still hear it filling but barely. Then it kicked into heat mode like it normally does.

Wondering if maybe this would be the inlet valve that needs replaced or something else? The float moves ok from what I could tell...but I think it's pretty much on or off so don't think it would cause the water to "trickle".

I noticed that there is a replacement valve for these but it only has 1 coil...I searched an older thread and it was stated that if the old one is double coil, to only plug in 1 set of the wires. Assuming it's the inlet valve.

Otherwise it washes just fine.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you!

have you checked the water flow?.....as in disconnect the hose from the valve, and while at it, check the screen for debris as well.....

Well seems like it might have been an issue with my water line. I've noticed this before but never really thought much about it. A few times I have turned on the hot water at the sink and the stream was very weak. Turned it off and back on again and it was fine. Perhaps there was air stuck? I dunno. But the dishwasher filled fine on Sunday night when I ran it. I left the door open while it filled to watch. So I'll keep an eye on it. Thank you for the tip!
