Vintage advertisements of Refrigerators, Stoves, Ovens,  Dishwashers, Washing Machines, Clothes Dryers, Irons, Radios, Phonographs, Televisions, Fans, Air Conditioners, Vacuums, small electric kitchen appliances. So grab a snack out of the Cycla-matic, sit back and lets take a trip down memory lane. Special thanks to my husband (Catalanman).

Note:  As per A.W. guidelines, please do not repost any ads that appear in Picture of the Day (POD).

Please feel free to post any ads pertaining to this thread, just be sure the advertisements do not contain any identifiable watermarks or copyrights on the image from any persons or other websites.

Since some of you have wondered, the year I post with the advertisements is the year the ad was printed. Not necessarily the model year of the product.

Please note, some ads may no longer be available for viewing in the earlier parts of Vintage Appliance Advertisements. The image hosting site being used then erased the images over time. Sorry about that.

Why did I think

Sunbeam was the only maker of an automatic bread lowering toaster? My folks were married in '59, and the manual Toastmaster they received as a gift was still working when I graduated high school.

It's miserable cooking with gas during the summer.  Large pots of water take forever to boil with a vintage, ordinary cook top or range top.  At church I once was trying to make a large batch of soup in probably a 18 to 24 quart soup pot using an ordinary household type range.  After an hour it still wasn't boiling!!

It all depends on the BTU's the burner puts out.

this was an ordinary kitchen stove from the 1970s.  Not very high I am sure.

No, it's hard to tell

if it is before or after Tappan Okeefe aquired Gaffers&Sattler.
High end for the home then was Chambers or Thermador, then Frigidaire.
Dacor, Viking, Five Star, DCS, GE Monogram weren't around yet.

In addition to the Toastmaster Powermatic, apparently KM (Knapp-Monarch) made one in the early 60s.  All I have ever seen were in ads... dang, I'd like to find one!!  LOL
