I've got a 67 GE in my collection. Interesting to see the differences that still existed between GE and Hotpoint even at that time. Wouldn't be much longer and HP would just be a rebadged GE. GE had the large burners opposite to HP. Switch for oven light on opposite side of door. GE used pushbuttons with set heat for burners rather than infinite control. No removable oven panels in the GE. What's to the right of the window on the oven door on yours?

The Hotpoint is a fancier version of the one my friend Jay has. His is from the early 70's, Avocado, no window or clock. |

Interesting--my grandmother had what I'd guess was the first generation of these. I think I recall that hers had Teflon on the bottom of the oven as well--she had an oven element burn out that scarred the Teflon. The stove was noisy--the panels rattled, the rack guides rattled, the racks rattled---a little annoying. It had 5 fixed heats (rotary version of buttons)...a timed appliance outlet...no cooktop signal light...no window but it did have an oven light. She always cooked with electric--seemed to work fine for her.
