A very interesting Thor dryer in New Hampshire. They say it's from 1947 (and yes, an interesting newer Kenmore washer next to it):

It would complement my Thor Automagic washer nicely and it isn't that far away.  Decisions, decisions.  Hmmmm..............what to do, what to do????

That looks like the thermostatic dry control that early Blackstone dryers and an early Westinghouse used, maybe others that I can't call to mind.

I think that this dryer was also sold under the Apex label, but I believe the Apex dryer had a glass window. Thor, Apex and the early Speed Queens looked like this dryer, but I am not certain about the dryness control.

Looks very similar to the Apex dryer that I got. It's pictured in this thread.

Thor design

Something else - how about that door? It's sculptural too. But the fun part is a huge identifier, "CLOTHES DRYER". NoS*Sherlock. Did people try to dry boots, pets, tools, or PROOF bread? LOL!
