This past weekend, for a change, Phil and I got to play host (hostess in my case...LOL) to a fellow washer collector from NY State! SteveD and his husband, Mark, ventured north for a short visit.
Of course the number 1 spot to visit was Phil's mid-century time capsule home in sunny Louiseville. Steve apparently, had to be restrained from trying to remove the Flair wall oven from Phil's kitchen... LOL I think even Mark was impressed with Phil's all-Frigidaire kitchen!

Steve and Mark arrived on Friday, then on Saturday, they spent the day in picturesque Québec City with Phil. They picked the right day for a visit for sure!!
The last photo is a protestor who has been in the Old City for the past 300 Saturdays, apparently.... |

I was trying my best to re-create the Aberdeen Farm... Hubby thought I was lining up machines for Flanders, the local scrap dealer, to pick up so I had to get them back under cover before Phil, Steve, and Mark arrived on Sunday... |

Now, Steve has never been to Ogden in person before, but he was quick to notice the 'new' dishwasher in the kitchen... He's not sure this Inglis is going to cut the mustard, however... |

While Phil, Steve, and I debated impeller-wash dishwasher loading techniques, Chris and Mark toured the gardens in Ogden. This worked out well since they both like to garden.
However, I think the conversation was along the lines of 'So, if I bury the turquoise Frigidaire dryer here, will it crowd out the Siberian Iris?" |

Meanwhile back in the kitchen:
"See, now that's how the rack for a bowtie dishwasher should look!"

And I had to show off the 'museum' room above the garage. Steve recognized Princess Turquoise right away, but I think Mark was a little overwhelmed....
Steve approved of my simplified version of the 'wall of dishwashers'. I think.... |

Now Phil had been incredibly patient (he's seen the garage a few times now... LOL) - he wanted to play with a certain '55 Pulsamatic! He even went out his way to spill sangria on Steve so that I'd have to do laundry....LOL
Well, the Pulsamatic did a great job and so did the '59 Imperial dryer. |

But I had a big dinner planned so, I had some kitchen work on my agenda. But I got to play with my 1948 GE Triple-Whip mixer, so it was all good! |

I cooked up a turkey on the Broil-Quik rotisserie (bet Jon Charles misses it... LOL) and that upside-down cake batter got mixed in the ol' GE triple-whip and baked in a turquoise GE frypan.
Steve was still not convinced that Inglis dishwasher was going to prove it's worth... |

We had dessert in the living room, accompanied by vinyl on the GE stereo console. Xavier Cugat and Bert Kampfert provided the entertainment. Chris was surprised and relieved I wasn't blasting the Ray Conniff... |

They had so little faith in the Inglis... I did not agree...
Chris and Mark chose to mock us. Sigh...
Well, I didn't take more photos after this but the Inglis did a fine job! No, really!
It was a great visit and I was happy to have a chance to have Steve and Mark stay with us for a change. I hope they can visit again soon!! |
