Can anyone tell me about this machine I spotted at an estate sale in CT?

Those were Chinese-made in years past.

Chinese/Asian rubbish

Years ago now some bright blub purchased/resurrected trademarks of old laundry appliances and began flogging Chinese/Asian built machines under those trademarks. Thor is one of them, though don't think many born after WWII even know who or what Thor once was. Machines were usually combo washer/dryer units.

IIRC these are the same persons who brought us Splendide, Malber, Equator and a few other off the wall brands.

These units have a following with the RV crowd along with perhaps small boats.

It looks Merloni-Indesit-ish to me, but looks can be deceptive.

The Thor looks a bit like an older Indesit model, however there are some differences. I assume the Chinese got inspired by Indesit.

Yes, that's the model I had in mind.

it might look like an Indesit but the machine is made by Haier, but today's models from them are no longer Indesit knock-offs. :)
