I saved the tee fitting off the 1966 A500 and wondered what it was for? It seems to have a check valve in it that lets air in but no water out when draining. Does anyone know its purpose? Thanks.

Wow. I remember those. My dad's store had boxes of them in black or white. I used to play with them as building blocks.

Askolover thats it! What is its purpose?? Is it worth saving or should I toss it? The machine was hooked up to a stand pipe that was very high in the basement.

Anti siphon valves

They prevent the sewer water from flowing back into your washer in the event of a stoppage somewhere down the line from your washer.

They also keep the washer from siphoning down the drain when the standpipe is low and it is on the permanent press cycle and starts to refill.
