The newest GE range that I have seen that has the panel light was similar to the white range shown here (not identical). The upper panel had the same type of overhang at the top and that was where the lamp was located. The oven controls were in the center, but were not of this variety, and there was a rocker switch to either side of the oven controls. The left switch was for the oven light, the right for the top light. The range was labeled 'Spectra' or 'True Temp' or some other typical GE badge.
The black range is a Profile Performance model and MIGHT include a panel light, but the photography is too poor to read any of the markings on the panel. Again, there would be a switch for each light - oven and top.

Only the Cafe and Profile slide in ranges have glass oven control panels. Of course, Monogram as well. Console lighting went out industry wide about 1995. With a good vent hood or a microwave oven vent, they all have work lighting built in. |

Here's one of the models that I've seen. Probably one of the last ones with a top light. Not sure how one services that lamp - would have to be from the rear. By this time GE had also ceased to call these 'work lights' and referred to them as 'night lights' in their literature.
