Some minor problems - the control knob doesn't engage the timer dial, the most pressing, but she works and the buttons aren't rubbed off!
Got her for $25 at the local ReStore...the hateful supper "Christian" was off today.
She mettalled a 1958 Imperial French door Frigidaire last week....
Looking forward to cleaning her up and any advice on how to fix the knob is much desired.

I have no idea,

however, my A208 ran without a hitch from 1978 to 1996, when we sold it with the house.

Nice find. Take the clip off the timer shaft and pull off the plastic knob. Probably just broken plastic.

I would NEVER let my lint filter look like that, EEW. But you got a real decent washer that will last forever, like my Maytags do. Take care of it and it will continue to wash for you. Trust me after nearly 35 years of experience.

Thanks all

We have a couple of slightly newer Maytags and two Maytag wringer washers, all wonderful - and, in contrast to the filterflos, this idea the first one ever to Need work, so I have little experience with them.
Yeah, the filter is pretty icky.

If you need the plastic knob, I probably have one. Yours if needed.
