I pulled out my 1965 GE catalog and find reference to Woodtone Brown - not in any listing of appliance colors, but in the Texolite information. The information on the underside of the washer lid indicates this is a 14 lb machine; 1965 would be the first year for the V-14 models and the last year for the bleach dispenser on the front of the cabinet.
So, I say 1965 and Woodtone Brown.

It is 1965 because the washer has 7 buttons, but the bleach dispenser is the old type mounted on the outside of the cabinet rather than the style begun in '66, mounted inside and under the lid. Also, the 1966 TOL had a solid color turquoise tub.
It is also Woodtone Brown; I never knew this color lasted until 1965. Coppertone and Woodtone did exist simultaneously on the GE menu for a number of years.
I would be diving for these but I have run out of space and money. I really hope these don't get crushed. |

That's excellent, Cory. I'm headed up there next week but I don't have anywhere to put those gems right now. I hope you get them. They're too nice to be destroyed. That stove is a work of art and the others aren't slouches by any stretch, either.
Dave - I would imagine you would get it by mixing a little white into some brown. Mixing colors into a paint base is an art form in its self. |

Best of luck to the lucky one that manages to get those beauties! They look like they've been taken care of considering their age. Cabinets of the W/D have a nice shine on them since you can see the reflection of the flooring in front of them. |
