The person who has this is unsure of the year. It has a pull-out door like a drawer vs. a pull down like today's dishwashers. Interior is pink.

It's 1960. It's an SU-70 and I'd love to know if it's for sale. Can we get an interior shot?

The SU-70 was the first (and arguably, the best) dishwasher my Parents ever owned.
Ours was a 1961 oddball model; pretty much identical to the one above, but instead of the plate warmer control, it had a visible cycle dial where one ought to be and the ventilation grille was brown instead of white. It also had the new all-plastic silverware basket instead of the older Plastisol covered wire one.
This thread should be in the Imperial section where I would have found it a half hour ago. Thank you Bob for the head's up.

Damn, I almost wet myself, when I saw this pic! I would absolutely love to own this machine. There was something about the drawer type machines shape, that proved to be great cleaning machines. My brother in law was a appliance repair person, and said it might of had to do with the interior shape Especially with the bow tie impeller. I think this model was by far the best drawer type, of all the drawer machines.

This was offered to me, and I was curious about the age, as I couldn't find a lot on the internet in just a general search. I have no idea if it works as the person who bought it for her kitchen never installed it, nor did the person she bought it from. No other history is known about it. Gasket needs replacing and I was told the hoses probably need to be replaced as well. I have not arranged to pick it up yet.

There's more than a dishwasher up for grabs, and that fridge is the exact model and size I'm looking for. Too bad it's on the wrong coast.
Ad link also accessible via "Somebody Save These" in Shoppers Square.

Sheesh, looks like my mother's old kitchen appliances! She had the plain builder model GE dishwasher with the bow tie impeller and a GE refrigerator that looked nearly identical. |

We *finally* picked up this dishwasher! Months ago I bought some pink metal cabinets near St. Louis and had them stored until we could go up there. On the way back from picking up the cabinets (turns out they are Geneva!), we picked up the dishwasher.
It's in worse shape than I thought, but I'm hoping a good cleaning will take care of that. The gasket around the top is completely dry rotted, so hopefully that won't be too hard to fix. |
