I agree, Bruce; the Lady Kenmores were full-featured, great washers. The timed dispensers were a nice touch--especially when using liquid chlorine bleach. Let the detergent do its work first, then add the bleach. These Lady K's were very quiet, as well.
Sta-Puf was already being eclipsed by Downy at this point, but have to admit I'm a fan of the thinner-viscosity softeners. Some of today's softeners are so thick they're encroaching on gel territory. No wonder agitator-mounted softener dispensers get gunked up so quickly. As for the knit clothes....not a fan. I certainly remember their popularity in the early 1970s. Yeesh! They were everywhere. On the upside, I suppose they were a godsend for people who hated to iron. |
