Am I the only one who wonders why on earth anyone would want this?

You are on a website for antique laundry enthusiasts, so it's very logical that someone here would want this. It's too darn far away for me, but it would be fun as hell!

I believe there is a member in upstate NY who was looking for one of these!

Yes, you are.

You've made this sort of comment several times recently and responses clearly proved there is an interest in semi-automatic or whatever washing machines.

At the very least, I love the way they look. My grandmother had a single tub wringer washer, and I have fond memories of helping her do the laundry with it. So, for me, it's the design and the nostalgia that would draw me to something like this.
