last night the washer was beeping during the cycle and found the extended spin button would come and off. Now as soon as you turn it on, it is lit and it keeps any of the other buttons from working.
Is it safe to say a new control panel is in order and it is not something else on a control board causing the issue? Is there a way to disable/disconnect a problem button?
Since I have had it, have replaced the u-joint and 2 pumps but other than that is has held up pretty well. Looks like it is about $224 on sears parts.
Thanks,
John

in that you made it this far with a KQ1 your doing good......

but yeah, eventually you will need a new board, but replace both at the same time, if you replace only one, the virus will transfer....

for now, unplug the machine, not for a minute or two, but for several days.....you might have built up a static charge that will take a while to go away...and this alone may fix your issue....

attaching a ground wire from the machine to the cold water pipe will help in the future, as well as leaving unplugged when not in use.....

keep us posted....

NLA parts

Haven't bought the control panel yet, but noticed that some major parts like the u-joint and pump are NLA :-(. Any idea what part suppliers might still have them so I can stock up? Have looked at Sears, Repair clinic, and parts select. Want to keep it going as long as I can.
Thanks,
John
