I took this machine apart this afternoon at Leon's house, it needs a main water seal and top seal ball bearing.

After struggling with one of these machines back in Maryland this one came apart extremely easily because somebody had had it apart fairly recently.

Unfortunately I did not bring a seal and bearing kit along with me, otherwise I could've put it back together.

Didn't you and your brother get your start picking up Norges repairing and selling them?

Have never seen a Norge coin-op. Interesting! Are you still visiting our members in Australia?

Hard to believe just how LONG ago this machine was around. Time does fly!

I have seen several "Norge Village" laundromats, but the only thing there were Norge dryers, the TL washers either GE filterflo's or Maytag's

this is cool to finally see one.....

what were the options, obviously water temps, but is the second one for speeds?

Back in the early 70's I did see one norge village laundromat that had Norge washers. They were the large capacity with some sort of bib midway up to show the load level and had the black bakelite agitators. I am guessing that the Norge machines did not fair well in rugged laundromat usage. I have only ever seen a solid tub coin op Norge once and that was in a junkyard where it had obviously been for quite some time. There are still a couple of old laundromats here that say Norge Village, but they have long since been different machines inside.

We had a Norge

Laundromat in my hometown, the top loaders were running in the late 70s because my Mother took big bed spreads there to wash in the Norge front loaders, they also had solid tub Speed Queens and a Bock extractor.

Those Norge front loaders wee the shell from their combos.
