Picked up and now have installed in the kitchen a 1951 Moffat 5 burner stove with two ovens, warming drawer and storage drawer. Of the five burners, only one has the full range of 5 temperature settings. On testing the coils with a multimeter it turns out four of the burners have at least one coil that shows infinite resistance.

They are the three wire, wired-in type of elements, one (likely original) says "Con-Rad" in the middle and has fairly wide flat topped coils, the others say "Canadian Chromalox" with modern-looking thinner coils.

Anybody know where I can find replacements for these? I assume I would need new trim rings since the way the elements lock into the existing ones is different element to element!

I would think

A Chromalox replacement would work.

Graham, I have a few NOS Chromolax 6-inch 3-wire elements and possibly a couple of older original Moffat elements and I'm in Quebec...  Let me know what you might need!!

WOW! congratulations on a nice range there. Chromalox replacement elements come with a trim ring that might help. I like the old elements that were halfway between Calrods and Radiantube/TK units.

I have a neat MIB OLD Norge element where there is the round outer ring with a star-shaped inner ring to give better heat distribution, I guess. The rings are like old COROX units in thickness. It looks like a wild early attempt at the problem of providing 5 or 7 heats with trying to provide even heat under the pan like parallel-wound Calrods.
