For any of you out there in need of racks for your KA DW, I'm about to photograph several KA racks that I have here. I just took my KUDS23 out of service yesterday and installed a KDS20 in its place. I simply have nowhere to keep all this rackery so....

Off the top of my head, I have:

1) 1 set (upper/lower) from KDC-18 machine. IMMACULATE condition. ZERO RUST, ZERO ISSUES WITH COATINGS. You will LOVE these--they are as close to NEW as you could hope for, expecially considering their being near 40 years of age! This has non-adjustable tines and smaller upper washarm (steel)...however I have a spare larger/full width steel washarm/china guard assembly that can be sent along with this rack set in case you want to "upgrade". Dimensionally these fit machines through 23 series, but you may want to ask a few experts up here if there are specific concerns utilising 18 series racks on newer machines as regards wheels/guides, etc...

2)1 set (upper/lower) from KDS-23 machine. Also in great condition with none of the usual issues regarding coatings or rust. Set is complete (comes with upper wash arm fill tube, and lower rack cutlery basket.

Photos coming shortly....

Allen, why did you take the 23 series out of service and put in a 20?  (If you'd mentioned issues in another thread, I missed the discussion).  Bob

Spoke a bit too soon re; KDC18 racks. The UPPER is perfect....I have just spied some corrosion on lower rack...need to charge camera battery and photograph that bit. Pics of the KDC 18 racks I already took can be seen below:

Hey Allen, are you still interested in the KDS20 control panel fascia I have here?

KUDS23 outta service....

Bob,
I've had the KDS20 sitting in a corner for years wanting to be used. I just miss having one in service, and my 23 has been performing badly the last few months. Sticking buttons on control panel, terrible upper rack cleaning ability, etc. I just pulled it out of the kitchen and will rehab it at some point in time. No plans on ever getting rid of the 23, but I have got to unload some of this stash of racks I have. Feels like an episode of "Hoarders" around here!

Ralph~re; kds20 Control Panel

Keep me in the loop on that one Ralph! Another member up here sent me one quite awhile ago (all I needed really was the acrylic panel from it)...but the whole framework came with it. Do you have the guts still in yours (ie; light bulbs/timer/etc)? That stuff may come in handy for me down the road...

Single lower rack from 23 series

Here are pics of that item. ONE area with rust. Can't even figure out how/why it is there, but it is the only spot. A tine cap would definitely solve this...

Allen, this is all I have.  When Nate and I did some troubleshooting on it, the RAT was suspect so the rest of the machine went to the scrapper.

Ralph~I'm very tempted...

What got me into trouble with the control panel in the 1st place was my will to get rid of the faux burlwood and reverse paint a colour in its place instead. I wound up partially melting the back of my original panel and got a replacement so the machine would at least look normal again!

You'll get no reprimand from me, Allen!  The fake burl is why I would only ever consider a "Monterey" version of a KDS21 when I thought I still wanted one, and killed any chance for a KDS20 in my kitchen.

It's here if you want it, because I sure don't.
