These won't be leaving Paradise any time soon, even though the washer lends a new twist to the term, "original sin."

Not only are they both lowly models, but the washer's original helical/pitman transmission has been replaced with an orbital.

Instead of gouging, the seller should be repenting.

More pix can be seen in the ad.

LOL holy moly. I think they have got a few screws loose. Plus the orbital transmissions are junk in my opinion. The internal components are plastic versus all metal in the helical. I have had to replace many orbital transmissions due to internal failures. But have never once, crossed a failed helical transmission.

They grow their own?

Dunno, might be worth more than the usual center-dial, they're in stellar condition and the washer got to keep it's original Power Fin that should make washing above average.

Still...

Yeah I suppose with the older style turquoise agitator mounted to the orbital transmission you would get some more aggressive watching action. I've just seen the internal components of the helical and the orbital and would much prefer helical due to the much heavier duty design. Plus I'm just more into the old fashion style maytags LOL

Rebuilt Late 70s MT Pair

Not an entirely unreasonable price if they throw in a Full Warranty for at least a year.

This upgraded washer would be a much better performer [ and easier on the clothing ] if they used the Load-Sensor agitator.

The MT set in the 70s show was avocado.

Note; All MT two belt washers are Helical Drive machines, it does not matter which transmission is in the washer.

yeah, there was at one time, only one transmission, so it forever gets referred to as a Helical....

both trannies use a Helical to operate....

but just to be pc....the first generation was a Pitman Drive transmission...
