Well the old one didnt get to the full 1400 spin tonight, it stayed on about 1000rpm before omiting a burning smell from by the sound of it, So killing the mains before danger hit the main motor. So like a sensible man I need to check and check and re check my finances, and do some pricing up. Hotpoint did me well so no reason why I shouldnt have another one, My old one gave me 5 years constant service every day. So lets see what tommorow brings, I have seen some great models that will suit my kitchen and hopfully my price range.

I’ve only had one Hotpoint washer, it worked but it became very noisy rather quickly and the “on” button fell off and the repair guy couldn’t fix it lol, had to use a pen

hmmmm

The repair guy using a pen "NO" if the machine was under warranty and he used a pen, he had made your warranty null and void. My machine had ran its natural life, hence shopping for a new one.

What's wrong with using a pen?

Neil Armstrong had to use a pen to push in a switch in the lunar module to take off from the moon. Good thing he did too.
