Knobs on the top of the backsplash are pretty unique. Can't see the name.

You can be sure

its a Westinghouse. They have that unique design around the oven door window

1964

I found this in the ‘64 builders catalog. Actually it probably is a 1965 as the clock is different. I don’t have that catalog to check.

Does anyone know how long Westinghouse had the controls on the top of the panel like that? I don't think I'd find them very convenient there.

I believe this was the last model with lighted, colorful visual indicators of the heat settings. The upper models had an oval window below each dial. Behind the window was a wheel with a red band painted to show total red color behind the window on High with the red band tapering down as the heat was diminished. The control panel light could be set to automatically turn on when any switch was rotated out of the OFF position. I have the KFE3B; thanks, Steve.

Where is this range and is it for sale? Do you know if it is in good shape? This range has the roast guard feature which allowed this electric range to offer the Roast and Hold like gas ranges introduced, but it had to be far more sophisticated than the feature on gas ovens because electric ovens do not cool down as fast as gas ovens so the Westinghouse oven lowered the oven temperature as the temperature of the roast rose so that by the time the selected Roastmeter temperature was reached, the oven was at a low enough temperature that the roast would not cook beyond the selected temperature.

Year offered was beyond 1965 (to 1967)

If you do a search for this model number, using Google, you'll find newspaper ads for this model as late as 1967.

" RANGE SALE WESTINGHOUSE KFE3B WESTINGHOUSE' MOST POPULAR MODEL WITH MIRICLE SEALED OVEN. INFINITE HEAT CONTROL ON SUR- FACE UNITS. A REAL MONEY SAVER AT $162.95 "

You won't be able to get a larger image unless you buy into newspapers.com but the description says it all.

"E" was the year code in the model number and it was for 1964. 1965 had "F" as its code, then "G" etc.
