That doesn't exactly look like coppertone, but I guess it is.  Too bad the fan/light cover is missing.

I can't figure out what that is in picture #5.

1964 FD ref, TOL, the only tilt out Freezer model

Picture #5 is the butter dish in the heated butter compartment.

Out of sight, out of mind

Thanks John.  I had assumed that what I saw in picture 2 was a full enough view of the door shelving to indicate there was no butter compartment, so I was stumped.

I don't think I could live with a fridge that required back-breaking acrobatics just to get the freezer door fully opened.  It's debatable whether this design was an improvement over a hinged freezer door.  I think GE's drawer approach was superior to either one.

That's a good looking 'fridge! The price is not outrageous, either.

Tilt-Out Bottom Freezers

These actually worked really well and took less effort to open and close than vintage GEs or new current refs, I think the only real disadvantage was they lost more space although most current pull out freezers lose a LOT of space compared to models with swinging doors.

Both Norge and FD built these refs with tilt-out bottom freezers.

My mom's friend Frances had one of these in White, along with a Flair range. Her brother owned a GM dealership, so they got a discount on Frigidaire.
