It finally came! The Haier HLP21E Compact/Portable washer! Its awesome! It arrived Via UPS around 3pm this afternoon. Lugged it into the house and took it down to the basement. Came out of the box without a mark on it! (some people have said that it sometimes get damaged during shipment) Got it hooked up and plugged in! Did a medium sized load of microfiber towels and it went off without a hitch!! Its so quiet too (alot of reviews said that its loud) turn over is great and it spins quiet fast.

Here is a preliminary pic and link to other photos:

Videos will be posted later tonight!

Ooooo!!!! I like the transparent lid!!!! How fast does it spin? How many water levels does it have? Does it have multiple speeds? The impeller kinda reminds me of the Harmony impeller...

Post# 144808 , Reply# 2   7/24/2006 at 19:54 (6,479 days old) by bobbyd32l ()

The owners manual states 800 rpms, I say it probably spins around 500-650 rpms.

It has 3 water levels: : Low, Medium, High, reset

It does have multiple speed, however it isnt user selectable, it agitates fast then towards the end of the cycle it slows down

I noticed the impeller too. It washes just like Roberts Harmony too!!

You do need to use a low sudsing detergent like Tide HE, there is a safety switch which is a PITA to try and manipulate...

Got some Videos, short, (need a larger memory card) but tell the story!!

The machine operates like so:

Fill, washes, neutral drain, spins (stops 4 times to empty sump) fills again, rinses twice, neutral drain, spins, stops 4 times, spins for 4 minutes and finishes.

There are 4 cycles Quick (wash, rinse spin, no stopping)
Power, 3 long soaks 2 rines
Normal :Stated above
Rinse only
Spin

How fun, Bobby - how many loads have you washed so far? The guys in Maryland had one similar to this we played with at the '02 convention - they are really fun to use.

The transparent lid is the best!

Cool! It seems so tiny next to your full-sized machine. Thanks for the vids.

Ive probably done 10 loads... LOL It does seem very small next to the Admiral... But, it does do pretty good sized loads... Its perfect for my towels and work uniform if I dont want to wait for a full load! I love it!

ooooh! I forgot to add... It has an off balance protection system. I experimented with it. If it is a just little off balance it stops and turns the disk. That usually helps. If it severly off balance it stops instantly, spins the disk while filling up, spins the tub just a little but, then at full level rinses for about 2 minuites drains and respins! Pretty damn good for a compact machine!

what's that goofy little mesh bag in there?

being a chinese company, i'm sure they just copied the Harmony and shrank it.

If you don't mind my asking,

Where did you order it from, and how much are they going for?

Post# 146308 , Reply# 14   7/31/2006 at 23:55 (6,471 days old) by bobbyd32l ()

The little bag is the Lint filter which really works quiet well! If you put it on a lower water level and put the clothes in you get reverse roll over.

I originally wanted to purchase it at Target after seeing it online and stating it was available in the stores as well.. So I went to the local store and was told it was an online only. I looked everywhere high and low and finally broke down and ordered it online from Walmart. (I HATE ordering items online. I hate the extra charge for shipping and the LONG wait! I like the instant satisfaction of picking it up!) I paid 198+30 for shipping, very good price for the machine you get if you ask me!

I love my little machine! I makes small loads so much easier, and it spins faster then the full size machine and gets my shop towels nice and clean! More videos are in the works!

Does it come with optional wheels and kitchen faucet attachments? I'm looking for a portable washer.

Also did you happen to do any research on the Avanti washer. That's the one I'm thinking about getting model W798SS.

Chris

I did compare them and found the Avanti a lesser buy. The Haier Spins faster and has a lower price.

It doesnt come with casters... but thats ok for my situation
