I have been considering changing my cell service from Verizon to Exfinity. I did some searches on them and I guess they are working with Verizon for cell service. From what I understand you use your home broadband and when out and about it changes to Verizon. There are also hot spots for connection I guess. Was wondering if anybody has gone this route and how is the service working. Have seen the ads on TV and was wondering about it. It seems cheaper than Verizon and about the same service areas. All info would be helpful.

We switched last month. I have been with Verizon for many years. All we've ever had were flip phones which is fine with us. None of us really wanted a smart phone, but that is what you get with Xfinity. So, we bought the cheapest LG phones they had. You cannot bring your own phone at this time.

My Verizon bill has been around $120-135/month. The first Xfinity bill is $22. That's $22 total for all 3 lines!! The cell service is still on the Verizon network and we saved $100. We are on the pay-per-gig plan for data and it's unlimited talk & text. It's $12/gig. We don't plan on really using the mobile internet on 4g lte if we can help it. This morning I was in a house that had Xfinity wi-fi and I could access the 'net right there.

So far (it's only been 1 month), I am pretty happy with the Xfinity mobile plan. Some friends of mine had switched a few months ago & they turned us on to it. They love it. They used to use Tracphone service.

Seen the commercials, haven't thought about switching. Right now I have AT&T with the smallest data plan and paying $80/month. Not sure if that's good or bad. My Samsung Galaxy SIII, which is more than I need, is getting older and having issues at times, and needs a new battery, so at some point I'll have to replace it. I am considering going prepaid, it's cheaper and might as well pay the cost of a new phone up front, because to my knowledge AT&T at least does not give a free phone with a contract anymore. I think I paid $30 extra to upgrade to my phone from the free iPhone 4S that was offered. Looking back, maybe I should have gotten the free Apple. Oh well.

I do use my phone on the Xfinity wi-fi when doing things that require a lot of data usage and it works fine.
