Need some guidance. Have a Frigidaire WIB 1-18 that is in regular use. Bought it new around 1980. My wife loves the washer and does not want to consider a new one. I replaced seals and bellows about 6 years ago. Next, the v-belt broke and I replaced it with a link type belt to avoid taking washer apart again. Other than that it has worked fine. Now the water has stopped circulating thru the lint trap. I am a little reluctant to start taking apart hoses and pump for fear I will break something that is not replaceable. Not sure whether it is likely to be a clog or a disintegrated pump impeller (or something else.) Any suggestions? Thanks, Mill

If your machine is draining the tub during the cycles and otherwise operating normally, I would venture to guess it is just a clog (lint build up?) in the recirculation hose between the pump and the filter.

I've heard the lint filter on these machines is of little use for trapping lint anyway, at least compared to a GE FilterFlo, Norge Burpalator, or Maytag's integral PowerFin filter. At this point you don't have to be in any hurry to fix it(if at all), because you won't miss it either.

I'm betting on the clogged hose.
