I just received a response from the Regional Sales Manager of the South Pacific region of Alliance Laundry.
What 'foreseeable future' means I can't say and they didn't elaborate.
I know this doesn't help any of you who still want the more traditional style machine, but I thought it was interesting to find out.
Cheers Leon

Thanks for the info. Any idea what water use standards Australia has? Even dryer there than Southern California!
Wondering if export models (Australia, Europe, South America, etc.) will keep proven features. And does Speed Queen export top loader residential to Mexico or Canada. Know Canada has some pre-ban style toilets but not sure what Mexico has. I think Mexico and Canada are 120 volt but I have an unused 240 volt in my garage for a dryer that I don't use (gas dryer). |

For the TL commercial sales here and in the rest of the world, You will still be able to buy one of these for home use from the commercial division of SQ, but the price will be about 50% higher than a current SQ TL washer, If anyone wants a GB style buy it NOW, there are only about 100 left in the DC area, I have sold 10 in the last week and a half.

I don't forsee this lasting long at all. The 2018 model is going to be such a flop that they are either going to find a way to go back to the gearbox machines, or use a mode shifter. I see changes coming there way in the not so distant future! |

Why do you think the older design was changed? |
