Ok so I accidentally deleted a Myplaces file from a Google operating folder thinking I was doing it on my thumb drive. Dumb goof on my part. Sent it to the recycle bin then latter hit delete. Turns out Google earth no longer shows my saved places that I accumulated for over 15 years. I was screaming folks.
Anyway I was able to retrieve it with a recovery wizard. All went well, except when I try to open the KML file, an error message comes up saying it will not parse. Is there any hope of restoring my original locations or is the retrieved file damaged for good? Normally I would not give a hoot as I back all important files up on external hard drives and data storage- but this somehow slipped my mind and my dumb attempt selective data recovery which has not failed me until now.
