This dryer was on my local Facebook marketplace listed as free. I picked it up but I really do not need it. I will be willing to give this away or trade for washing machine. It’s in good shape and has all documentation. The inside could use a de-linting. It came with the original sales receipt and the only repair it has ever needed was a gas solenoid. That receipt is included as well! It’s pretty cool that Whirlpool even included a handy pocket on the back of the control panel to store all this in.

Tom, that CR article probably dates to 1975 or late 1974.
I remember it being published around the same time the '67 Snorge was self destructing and I was leading the search for its replacement, which ended up being the relatively rare Kenmore with the gold & rust center dial panel, automatic soak & wash, removable automatic detergent dispenser that mounted in the left rear corner, gold Penta-Swirl agitator and the Quiet Pak feature.
That washer was still going some 25 years later, while the despised Snorge suffered its second transmission failure after only 7 years (it sounded like a big rig was roaring through the laundry room). |
