We have an LG Tromm washer and dryer, and they’re great. Question- at the end of each drain, it releases about 5 seconds worth of water. Why does that occur? Thanks.

Maybe it is checking the flow efficiency through the pump. Or possibly it does it in stages to allow a temporary backflow to dislodge suds and/or lint.

Another reason might be that modern magnetic pumps are a little on the flimsy side, and have shorter run times than the older shaded-pole pumps.
