So we are soon moving into a house that has a gas stove. I've always had a vintage stove, so I'm wondering if this might be a good candidate?

Luckily, the kitchen is an original kitchen from the 50's.

Any knowledge of this model?

As far as stoves and refrigerators are concerned, Norge is as good a make as any other.  The only thing I'd not like about that stove is its burner grates, which are on the flimsy side and could rattle, but that's a minor quibble compared to modern gas stoves.

I would love to have that stove as we had a Dixie as a kid that looked just like that one. More than likely the worst drawback is standing pilots of a stove of that age and possibly you may have to light the oven by hand. Otherwise it should work perfectly for many more years.

Would a stove of this age have a "CP" designation on it somewhere or had they stopped applying those by then?

I would not want to have to light the oven every time I used it.  Maybe at a quaint getaway cabin or something, but not with my daily driver.  Besides, I can't remember the last time I saw a box of "strike anywhere" kitchen matches.

Probably

A late 50s, more than likely automatic oven ignition, great stove!

Thanks for the Amazon link.  I don't really need "strike anywhere" matches, but have noticed that grocery stores don't seem to carry them, at least around here.

I remember like it was yesterday being at our next door neighbors' beach house as a kid, and their mom striking a match across the inside of the oven door before lighting the burner.

I'm in contact now with the seller..

Do you think it is porcelain or painted steel? How hard will it be to find a pink fridge!
