I have a top load SQ washer i bought in 2016. Recently the apartments i live in changed all the water meters on each unit. Well now the hot water flow to the washer is so slow and its on the heavy duty cycle. It all worked fine before the water meter was changed. How does that affect hot water flow.

have you checked the screens in the water valve/hoses.....

a lot of times when they disturb plumbing, it can break a lot of small particles loose, and usually screens and faucet aerators get clogged....

good to see you posting again.....

Yes checked that this morning. Took off the hot water hose and checked screens in hose and water valve. All clear but still have slow hot water flow to machine

Figured out the problem. The water meter is inside just above the water heater. The flow of water into the water heater had been half way closed. Turned it on full blast and hot water flow to washing machine has been restored.

Since there is an extra pipe by it, it looks like some sort of recirculation pump that cycles the water around so you never have to wait for hot water at the taps.

I like the recirculation idea.

I wonder why somebody would want the hot water supply valve to be only partially open.

Not seeing it from here. I see only 3; hot, cold, and the T&P.
