Hey all, it's about time for me to get back in the game here. Just thought that I would share the washer and dryer that my parents have at their house. The Maytag Neptune washer and the LG dryer.
My parents got their brown GE set brand new back in either 1985 or 86, that was their first washer and dryer they've ever owned. They've had them for about 10 years, about 5 years at their old house and about 5 years in this home, and of course they brought it with when they sold their first house in 1990. Fast forward to 1996 when we got our old cabin remodeled, instead of buying a new washer and dryer for up there, they bought a white GE set brand new for this house and brought their old set for up there. In 2003, we sold the first cabin and left the brown set behind. A year later, we built another cabin and we bought a White Whirlpool Duet set brand new. A little after that, we were looking to replace the GE. Since the new cabin is alot bigger than our house, it had room for another washer and dryer to be used for up there, and with more bed sheets that needs to get washed, we then brought the GE for up there and replaced it with a white Maytag Neptune set. In 2006, we sold the last cabin and left both sets behind. In 2014, the Neptune dryer broke down (The motor went bad). Instead of fixing it, the repairman recommended LG because he gets less service calls with them. So we went out to Home Depot and bought the LG. Today, they both still work. The Neptune doesn't shut the door like it used to anymore, sometimes it now takes a little longer to start, and it's gotten louder when it hits the spin cycle. My parents are planning to replace the Neptune with the matching LG washer when it dies. So that covers the story, the next picture shows the detergents and sheets they use. For years we've sworn by Tide, they used to use the powder kind but they like the liquid ones better (Haven't used Tide with bleach for a long time). Before they've used Tide, they've previously used Cheer but they like Tide much better. |

In case some of you were wondering what the brown GE set looked like. Here's a video that I took from a tape that was taken from when we got the cabin remodeled in 1996. I know it's not much and we have no idea what model the GE was but it's to give everyone the idea here.
Originally this was taken from me almost 2 years ago for vacuumland.org because you may notice the vacuum in the background and that was just showing the others about that first vacuum we've had up there. |
