This dryer popped up on Craigslist this week. It was located in Hot Springs and I drove over after work to seal the deal. The guy had sold his house in Tyler Texas and moved everything to their Hot Springs home. I’m pretty excited to get it and wish I had the matching washer!
What preventative maintenance should I do before I plug it in? He mentioned it had been several years since it was last used.

Unless you want to take it all apart and do a little cleaning and lubricating, but if it runs fine and does not make strange noises, there is little to gain and a good chance that you might do some harm unless you are very skilled at rebuilding WP built dryers.
PS it should be almost exactly the same age as you.
