Looking for a top-loader KA I saw a couple days ago....can't find it now.
I've not ever found a Hotpoint TL, though - any good? CLICK HERE TO GO TO ovrphil's LINK on Cosprings Craigslist |

How do they sell something that is clearly a GE , then? I thought (maybe I'm reading it wrong) that the front lable indicates , "HOTPOINT"? But...I've never seen any top loading Hotpoint. How do they come up with product ID's?

Going back decades. IIRC they wanted to get their mitts on "calrod" technology or something.
Anyway brand rights were split between Whirlpool (Europe) and GE (North America), which means now the Chinese company Haier owns Hotpoint for the latter. Yes, this dishwasher was a cousin to GE's Mobile Maid series. Actually have the repair manuals for a few of these series as they were the closest one could find to our Mobile Maid. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotpoint... articles.chicagotribune.com/1987-... www.facebook.com/lostilli... |

Thanks Launderess...interesting reads. Funny, two months after that story was written in the Chicago Tribune, NCR, purchased by AT&T, restructured our retail and hospitaliity division. The eighties were full of transitions, consolidations, acquisitions and closures...it seemed.
So that's how Hotpoint got its name! |

If you were looking at an avocado green Varicycle in Colorado Springs I think I may have snagged it... But those GEs were excellent too! I almost snatched one up a couple years ago that was on Craigslist, a late 50s model with a pink interior.
