I have a small Dominion by Hamilton Beach Tall Fry. rectangular plastic and has a temp dial and a small basket. Never been used, basket still in plastic bag. I found it at Salvation Army long ago. Unfortunately the lid was missing before I got it.

I saw one this morning at an estate sale that was similar but black body, no temp control and had said Fry All on it. It had the basket and plastic lid too.

Does anyone know much about these? Apparently mine was meant to be a cooker or fryer. So I guess I could use it to boil vegetables, etc.

These had imperfect thermostats when new

I'd not risk deep fat frying loft every leave one alone. They do heat up fast and work well for soups.

Agree with panthera

Never walk away while using . Monitor temp with a thermometer. I use a deep fry thermometer with my Presto Fry Baby.

We had one of the Presto fryer "buckets" and I didn't know they had a thermostat built in haha! Ours never worked, if it did, it was wildly inaccurate. I'd just unplug it for a few minutes if it started to smoke, then plug it back in when it cooled down to where it wasn't cooking properly. Ended up giving it to friends, and I think they still have it. I don't think we deep fry enough to bother owning a fryer. Sure, I wouldn't mind french fries once in a while, but the little ice cream place at the end of our street has better fries than I've ever made, and no mess or smell in the house. I attempted doughnuts once when we had the fryer, and they were awful so I gave up on those as well. Oh well, fried food is unhealthy anyway...

I don't usually deep fry anything any more so this would just be for cooking if I ever used it.

We have a Fry Daddy, usually used it for frying fish and things. I think we'd had several over the years. I wouldn't trust one that got hot enough for the oil to smoke, they're not expensive to just replace.

Also I forgot to mention my Tall Fry is harvest gold with a brown tank, and the tank is taller than the Fry All version.

Also does anyone know what became of the Dominion name? I know in the early 70s they sold to Hamilton Beach/Scovill.
