If you want to see how I got to this process click this link: http://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?71659

Before I start writing anything else, I want to give thanks to John Eichinger(gyromatic), Ben Swestka(swestoyz), John Lefever(combo52), and Jon Charles(Jetcone) for helpful advice and some parts. Without their advice I would be a ship without a rudder here! I now have the high-speed shifter solenoid.

Here is what is looked like before disassembly. The timer motor and escapement were previously removed by me, I had already cleaned the old grease out that was jamming the mechanism.

I have since removed the top and control panel cover. Take note of the Insul-rats-nest, over the element.

Something I have already done is to take apart, splice where wires were broken with solder and heat shrink tubing, lubricate and repaint the drying fan motor. Here are the fruits of my labor.

Door boot

The existing door boot needs a little TLC to put it mildly, I will be obtaining a Speed Queen p/n: 801784 to replace it. This door boot replacement was an idea of Jon Charles and was shared to me by Ben Swestka. Thanks to both.

Wow, what a project. It's really cute but the door is so small. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

Hi Richard glad you’re working on this machine, it should be fun it’s a nice solid older machine and everything can be fixed on it with a little time and patience.

Look forward to talking with you if you have any questions get in touch when we’re back from Paris next week.

John L.
