These are both very good machines. The washer is the same as top control Fridgidaire FL that I bought in 2003, and I had the same Kenmore dryer while I had this washer. I think these type of FL’s were the last really good basic FL’s. The capacity of the washer was 3.1 cu ft. and of course the controls are electro mechanical, no computer the hinder the progress of the cycle, spin included. I should have kept this washer until it took its last breath. Hindsight is always 20/20, LOL. It handled our kingsize blankets, comforters and bedspreads with no problem. The max spin speed was either 950 or 1000 rpm, and it ALWAYS went into a spin when it was supposed to. Water temps weren’t dumbed down either. Too bad they don’t bring these back.

Electrolux under several labels.  WCI printed the labels for whomever.

I've got the washer, minus the backsplash controls.  Quiet; loudest thing it does is fill.  Rinseaholic's dream, 4 fills plus one spray.  No mold, no stink with common sense care.  No trouble at all.

Yes, the industry would do well to take a step or 2 back.  It's a bloody washer, not a transgalactic spacetime modulator that emails me every time spin balance fails.
