I have a 28 year old WP washer model# LA5580XSW0. I am looking for a replacement timer, my part list show the part number is 334776 but i found a timer online with the part number being 334776A. What does the A mean? And could i use 334776A in my washer without any trouble? Thank you all for your HELP

The full part number for the timer is 3347766. There is at least four of them right now on eBay.

I think the timer with the A on the end will work.

The timer on our LDA-7800 was replaced some years-in due to the low-speed circuit going bad.  The replacement had a one-stage cool down on Perm Press (partial drain, refill, agitate, presumably for water saving purposes) whereas the original was two-stage (partial drain, refill, agitate, partial drain, refill, agitate).  Perhaps the "A" designation is related to that programming change.  Knit had a one stage cool down on both the original and replacement timer.
