First morning at Hampton by Hilton during our 3-day "fumication", and the Norelco corded shaver decides now is a good time to give up the ghost.  No matter which outlet I plugged it into, along with rapidly flicking the power switch and flexing, rotating and moving the power cord, it was dead to the world.

Visit walmart.com, find the cheapest corded model, arrange for same day pickup, unbox it at the hotel, expecting it to be made in China like the last two or three, not Holland like my first one.

Nope.  Shaver's labeled "MADE IN NETHERLANDS", step-down power cord is made in China.  Seems they're using the same DC motor in both rechargeable and corded models.

Oh, and the previously mentioned Norelco magically came back to life but I don't know for how long.  It's now backup.

"MADE IN NETHERLANDS".  Knock me over with a feather.

Norelco, reminds me of this ad every December with a Santa going over a ski slope, Floating heads, floating all the way, Norelco is the shaving gift to give on Christmas Day. Why do I remember this stupid crap.

Why corded?

I still have my Philishave for over 15 year and it works perfectly.

Darryl is using it now, by the way. The battery charge lasts for months!

I rarely shave out of reach of an electrical outlet.

This new one is so quiet you hear the cutters mowing off the whiskers and then falling silent.  It's a keeper.

I may have to check that one out.  I despise hearing a chain saw on my face when I first get out of bed!
