Hi I just wanted to see why my washer will only fill on the Rinse and spin setting. I tried all the the other setting's and it will not fill . I read the information on the lid on how to reset the panel but it still won't reset to the other settings . I have a 90series electronic Kenmore washer . Any questions just ask I would appreciate it.

When set for wash fill does it hum ? Will it even fill for a cold wash ? Have you been using this washer very long ? There is about a 2 minute pause for wash fill while it dispenses detergent.

to the right of the cycle selections, theres a little "asterisk" * there.....

after you press START, push that little asterisk, it will cancel the detergent dispense and go right to filling the tub.....

it should say it right there...."after start...CANCEL...detergent dispense"

Kafooty...

You have an excellent machine on your hands that is completely versatile. All the cycles on the machine can be modified to suit whatever you would like the machine to do. From soaking, pre-washing, 2nd rinses, timer delays. For one thing....you can still get HOT water for washing in that machine.
For a really extended soak on a troublesome load I would start the machine and load the clothes with detergent and clothes. Once the machine started, I would stop it and reset the machine to soak (up to 60 minutes), then wash (for the max. time allowed on the cycle), and second rinse. and would set the washer to delay start for 9 hours making sure I filled the dispensers to refresh the detergent possible softener or bleach
. Essentially it gave me an overnight soak without me having to go back to the machine til it was done. The cycle time was over 10 hours long!

Yes, I do miss that machine!!!

Enjoy that gem while you have it!

Thanks guys these are my first electronic direct drive Kenmores so I didn't know too much on how they work. I got the matching dryer for the whole set I paid 125.00 they were asking 175.00.These are my newbies I plan to use them once a week. I did see that switch to cancel the dispenser so the washer can fill right away Thanks I didn't know that. This machine does very much has alot of washing options and I'm still learning yes this is a great washer sturdy and quite nice I believe it's from the mid 90s.

post the model and serial number....and we can decipher the actual date....those look closer to 1995ish with the Three speed motor

on both machines.....the top portion of the control panel lifts up.....one for access to replace the light bulb, and more instructions buried there.....

on the washer.....two buttons up top, on the left is Automatic Temperature Control ON/OFF.....this will not dub down temps, in fact, will increase if needed for proper washing and detergent activation...especially in cold water...

the button on the right, dryer has it too.....is for the panel light, to turn ON/OFF when the machine is not in action....

BTW I failed to mention you have a beautiful black set I never see them for sale how long have you owned yours?. Question what have you came across with problems on your washer and dryer how hard is it to fix the electronic panels ?

I have had the black set for about 4 years...

if those touch panels go, you will have a hard time finding a replacement....

I have owned a 1988 set brand new......the boards went out under warranty

and I had the 1995 set like yours, brand new, this time with a gas dryer.....

just the usual, motor couplers, and dogs on the agitators needing replaced....
